area’s phone

you are dialing

trouble with the

file transfer

protocol.

Terminate and

Stay Resident

(TSR) program

running in the

background,

interfering with

data

communications.

1 Try placing the call again.

The phone company

routes calls differently

each time.

1 Type this command in

terminal mode to load

the optimum settings:

AT&F1 <enter>.

1 Lower the serial port rate

in your communications

software to 38,400 bps

or 19,200 bps.

1 Try using a different file

transfer protocol. Do

not use Xmodem if other

protocols are available.

1 Disable any TSR programs

running in the background.
